Take time out to reflect, be still, pause.
We have a growing collection of reflections, most of them based on events held
at St Mary's, Quarry Street, Guildford. This includes seasonal reflections, a Monday
lunchtime programme, and special Taize and Tenebrae services which are reflective in nature.
IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
The Church of England has a series of reflections intended for those feeling isolated and anxious in mind.
LENT AND EASTER 2020
There would normally be a Lent reflections series at St Mary's however due to the Coronavirus situation it has been suspended. You can find the 2019 series, with paintings by Daniel Bonnell here. You can find links to a range of resources on our coronavirus page.
ADVENT and CHRISTMAS
St Mary's Advent 2017 reflection one Little Town, Big Story by Jo Trickey. Reflection two by Sarah Hutton about Mary's story, including the question "do we tend our well"? . Reflection three How silently by Lyn McKay with a message about setting aside times of silence.
NEW YEAR , FRESH START
St Mary's is usually open from about 12 noon to 6pm on New Year's Eve. We have tried to capture some of that atmosphere here.
These reflections from our New Years Eve series are about:
how light is stronger than darkness;
walking in other peoples' shoes; and
the contrasting call to "go" and "be".
