New Year's Eve reflections

Light in the darkness
 
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)  

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. (Martin Luther King Jnr).  

Walk in other peoples' shoes

 

No two people are the same - we have different needs, skills, hopes and aspirations but we are all special to God.

Try to do what is good for others, not just what is good for yourselves. (1 Corinthians 10:24)




Go and Be 

Two contrasting and complementary commitments for the new year.

Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly before your God. (Micah)
Seek the welfare of the city and its welfare you will find your welfare.
